Children's book illustration

| | Comments (0)

I've been reading the Wizard of Oz to my 3-year-old son for the past week. I didn't realize how long the story was. But what makes this story one of my favorites -- and my son's -- is the illustrations in this version of the Wizard of Oz.

The illustrator is Charles Santore. Here's a look at the book cover.

I was first introduce to his work when I was in art college, and have been inspired since.

Just Google him if you want to learn more about him.

Other great children's book illustrations include Snow White, and The Little Mermaid, see samples below...

Take note, he's not the writer but the illustrator who brings these classic stories to life.
