"Where the Wild Things Are" an inspiration to all

I've been working on a page design for the upcoming movie "Where the Wild Things Are."

Today I was working on an illustration of Max.

Here is the preliminary sketch drawing using 3H and 4B pencils.

Using a Wacom tablet I add color in Adobe PhotoShop.

Here is a closer look at Max.

I am working in Adobe PhotoShop CS3 and I only have three layers. Top layer is the sketch, this layer is set to multiply so the white background disappears. The layer right below is my color layer. And this is where I add color. I started changing more of the options of my brushes and really like the look of turning"wet edges" on in the options palette. This option gives the brush a more painterly look to it.

The bottom layer is my background and it is white.

I must have one of those tablets! Nice work.
