Austrian painter Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862– February 6, 1918), known for his elaborate and beautiful Art Nouveau paintings of women, which have made him one of the most famous painters of his time.
One of my favorite paintings was “The Kiss.”
Many of his paintings depicting nude women drew a lot of controversy too. Some critics deemed his art as pornographic. But art is subjective, so you the viewer can and should make your own judgment.
His work will be shown throughout Vienna this year to celebrate his 150th birthday.
