My Baltimore Ravens playoffs page design was created with the help of my editor Brad Jennings.
The page takes a look at the history of NFL teams of Baltimore which were the Colts and the Ravens.
Like most of his ideas they begin with a rough sketch and I mean rough.
I was given the assignment at 10 a.m. on Friday and had to make sure it was ready by the end of my shift, so it was important that I started on the design ASAP. Along with building this package I also had my other daily graphics and illustrations to finish too.
The page was designed using Adobe Illustrator. Brad did the text and data research, which he then emailed me. I then just started putting all the pieces together.
The photos were from the Associated Press.
Brad incorporated some fun facts and trivia about each of the teams so I put those into silhouettes of the representing teams to help break up the other facts on the page.
After finishing the print part I then created an online component.
Brad and I decided on a slideshow presentation for the web.
So, I went back to the printed piece and started cutting chunks of art and text and designing eight JPG files.
I copied the files onto a jumpdrive and then passed the files onto Brad.
Brad then imported the eight JPGs into a program called Soundslides.
