I was at Leroy and Joyce Bupp's farm again on Wednesday, checking out one of my favorite places to take pictures. As usual, there was another litter of kittens crawling around, and I usually make it my duty to shoot a few frames.
None were cooperating, of course. Running and jumping every direction but what I anticipated, I put the camera down, frustrated. It quickly became the object of curiosity for the little cuties. For some tips how to photograph cats (obviously something I'm going to study), click here or here.
Photo shot with a 17-55mm lens (18 mm), f13 at 1/40 second at 640 ISO.

Now that's a good photo. Kittens are like moving kids, fun but a PITA to photograph. :)
Is that a Nikon D2X?
thanks! That's a D2H. Newspapers generally don't need the mega-pixel cameras, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's the main difference between the H and X.
Yep, that's the main difference. Plus a few other tweaks. I was first going to say I'm surprised that you haven't bumped up to the D3 / D3s, but then realized that you would also have to upgrade lenses as well.
Plus, as you said, the paper doesn't require high mega-pixels, though I will have to say, shooting at ISO 6400 with as much noise as ISO 200 on your D2H is a really nice thing to have; but again not for the paper. :)
