Was cruising around the county Wednesday looking for interesting ways that people used to cool off, but kept coming back to swimming holes.

One of the best swimming holes is on Muddy Creek, which divides Lower Chanceford and Peach Bottom Townships. In most spots, it's a quiet stream with a few ripples in it-- great for a tube float. As it gets closer to the Susquehanna River, it can get a bit more exciting, with deeper spots for swimming.

Brother and sister Casey and Mike O'Connell of Bowie, Md., were visiting friends from Delta and together took a trip over the falls. Looks like both had a good time.

It's a great place to enjoy the hot summer days. Please, if you take a picnic lunch or your favorite beverage to your favorite spot, remember to haul out the trash. Keep the area clean for the next family.

Police officers have been known to take a dim view of partiers, because some leave it looking like a trash heap.
