Greetings from Buffalo

greetings from Buffalo blog.jpg

Was warned that it would snow while I visited Buffalo last weekend. But in a silly attempt to save the tread on my snow tires, I decided against mounting them-- I'll wait until winter really hits.

Coming to Buffalo in winter without snow-ready tires, boots, scraper and blankets is like heading to Florida without sunscreen or Alaska without mosquito repellent. Fortunately, I had no weather-related problems, and it only snowed a few inches. The all-season tires were OK. When the two feet of snow hits later, I'll have the snow tires mounted.

Photo shot at 1/500, f5.6 and 400 ISO at 300mm. Because of the snow, I purposely overexposed one stop.

You had me worried there for a minute, Bill. A friend drove from York to Buffalo for the holiday.
