The thermometer said it was 29 degrees outside, but Monday night's wind chopped that figure to pieces.
Drove to Philadelphia Monday to see Boathouse Row, a neatly decorated row of homes along the Schuylkill River. The lights are tasteful, not gaudy, and the view from Interstate 76--the Schuylkill Expressway-- is clean, crisp and refreshingly simple.
Took pictures downriver and toward downtown from the Spring Garden Street bridge just below the Fairmount dam and the Water Works Restaurant, the historic waterworks building. But they were downtown photos that we've all seen too many times.
So I walked down to river level for a different view.
Lights, not necessarily all for the holidays, bounced off the cold water in a long exposure.
Then, I turned around, walked a few steps and shot up river toward Boathouse Row.
But this evening was not for landmark, masterful photos. Was just plain too cold.

Maybe it was the cold temps that allowed you to get very crisp, clear shots. Fabulous.
