Dinner on the Susquehanna

Looking like something from a steamy hilltop, this photo is of a great blue heron looking for lunch on the Susquehanna River near Saginaw Tuesday.

A fog hung over the river, making for a different look in the middle of January. With Brunners Island just up river, maybe some of the discharged water was warmer than the river, making the fog? I don't know. Sounds logical.

Picture taken at 1/160 second, f8, 500 ISO with a 500mm mirror lens.
