Ice isn't always nice

There's been snow laying on the ground most of the winter, but that's not been the problem. Most of the snow falls have been of manageable depths (compared to last year's two 2-foot storms). This winter, the ice has been more of a challenge.

Last week's ice made for some pretty pictures, but most of it had melted by 11 a.m. Late-risers missed most of it.

Smith Middle School students had to battle ice and slush on their walk to school. It's a good bet they weren't impressed by the ice hanging on everything.
