Pinchot Park tree

This tree at Gifford Pinchot State Park can be shot from nearly every angle, and would still provide a calming photo. It's been one of my favorites since first seeing it decades ago, but don't get to the park as much as I'd like anymore.

Pinchot is a beautiful place, especially this time of year when you have it to yourself. Try hiking, cross country skiing, ice boating and ice fishing. Last updated January 27, the park's winter report shows ice was six inches thick with seven inches of snow. The center of the lake still had some open water.

At the Conewago day use area, the York Audubon Society supports a half dozen bird feeders that attract an amazing number of woodland birds.

This photo shot Tuesday shows the foggy weather from the boat mooring area #2 parking lot.

Photo taken at 1/25, f16, 200 ISO and 24mm.

This is funny. I too have a favorite tree in Pinchot, different from yours. Actually, my tree is really two growing so close almost to be one. One is deciduous and one is a fir.
