It's funny how perspective changes things. While shooting in the snow last weekend, I happened on an old farm, and wanted to shoot some pictures there. An elderly woman answered my knock on her door, and she gave a strange look when I explained.
"Don't know why you'd want to do that," she said. "It's a mess." Or something to that effect. True, it was a farm that had seen the last of its farming days years ago. Dust was spread all around, old oil cans still decorated the window sills, tools laid where they last sharpened a knife, screwed in a wood screw, scraped paint or hammered a nail.
Wishing I knew some of the stories that were made here and told here, I resisted an urge to open the barn door to see the treasures. Stayed outside instead.
The old wagon wheel hung on the barn siding, awaiting a photographer to stop and say hello.
And just down the street, Snow Road was, in fact, snowy.
Both photo were taken at f22, 250 ISO and 17mm. Unknown shutter speed.

Wow! Bil, you almost made me miss the snow it looks so beautiful in your photos, especially the stark white against the texture of the barn and the wheel. (I can almost picture those tools inside, based on your description.) But I think I'll take the sunshine for now! No more winter, please.
