Another reason to check your tax return

Did you get another call from your spouse who said he or she has to work overtime and can't make it home for dinner?
Do you have a nagging feeling that maybe he or she isn't being truthful?

Check your tax return.

Helen O'Planick, owner of Heljan Associates in East Manchester Township, offered her expertise in a recent article that ran in The (Trenton) Times about how people can catch their cheating spouses by checking their tax returns.


Some quick tips, according to the professionals:
-- Check your spouse's retirement account to see if he or she has made any unscheduled withdrawals
-- Check to see if the amount of overtime he or she claims to have worked in the past year shows up on the return
