Archbishop: Climate change, rBST milk possible sin

| | Comments (0)

According to the new perspective from a Catholic leader on the subject of confessing sins, environmental degradation is an evil of the modern world. Churchgoers would need to confess it. Don't believe me? Here it is.

Also, please take note to the whole genetic manipulation part, too. Stuff like embryonic research is definitely a bad thing, but the church is also interested in the world of genetic research, apparently wary of playing God with human genetic makeup, and possibly that of other living creatures.

Which means the debate about Rutter's and its milk that isn't produced with artificial hormones could become a theological debate. (The artificial hormones used in the production of other milk is manufactured by genetically modifying bacteria.)

Also, Southern Baptists have also come out today and said that there is a moral mandate to protect the earth that God created.

It's especially interesting since the last time these and other churches teamed up in any kind of mandate for social change, it was the resurgence of the abortion debate 20 years ago.

Do you think God should be brought into the debate on global warming, climate change and genetically modifying life on earth? And do these stances change the way you feel about the issues?
