Everything I know about work, I learned from Jim Halpert

Michael surprised me in last night's episode. I think it's the first time in maybe forever that he handled an uncomfortable situation appropriately. Sure it may have taken some poking and prodding from HR and in the beginning he may have wanted to take a half day on account of a stomachache, but in the end he did the right thing.

But after giving Michael that credit, I think it's time to examine what Michael and the rest of the Dunder Mifflin crew taught us not to do.

Michael showed us it's a bad idea to insult your employees, no matter how ugly their specs may be. He also taught us not to be scared of your employees or hide from them or fake fire them.

Of course we learned from Dwight that Jedi mind tricks may not be the way to go. Instead intensely saying "Do it" over and over and counting down from five may be enough to conform weaker minds to your will.

Toby taught us that ratting out your co-workers to the higher ups is a petty way to handle an issue.

Quick note to NBC: The effort to not show Angela's pregnancy is just getting comical.

What did you all think about this week's episode. Let me know in the comments!

How about not assuming your warehouse workers used to be members of a gang, and then listening to their really bad but hilarious advice? During the Stanley-Michael showdown I was literally in front of the TV begging "Oh my god. Please don't tickle him. Please don't tickle him..."

I thought Michael might start tickling him too, but in the end I'm really glad he didn't.

Another valuable lesson we all learned from Pam in last night's episode is to recheck your overnight bag when you "sleep over a friend's place" on a work night. Either that or update you eyewear every so often.
