York County Chamber Biz and Tech Expo: Lunch Time

| | Comments (0)

It's lunch time at the expo so I decided to scope out all the places you could grab free munchies here.

There are tons of catering places represented, and they are all featuring pretty delicious-looking spreads.

Here's what I heard from and saw at some of the stands.

Personal Touch Catering was giving out hoagies (or subs, depending which lingo you go with), baked beans, potato salad, crab soup and some other goodies. The caterers made 40 pounds of potato salad for today and 100 pounds of beef for last night's preview event.

Ginger Babies had a plate of really yummy looking imported cheeses for people to taste. The only basic kind of cheese there was a sharp cheddar, said caterer Joseph Reed. Others included a blueberry cheese and a chive-covered goat cheese.

Over at Artistic Foods Catering's booth there was another hoagie and a big bowl of pasta salad. For last night's preview event, the caterers served mini tilapia fishcakes and imported cheese and some Cinco De Mayo-themed selections, said Ben Strausbaugh, one of the caterers.

To quench your thirst you could head over to the vending machine booth, which had both a drink and snack machine giving out free treats. The neat thing about the snack machine was that healthier choices were placed on the right side of the machine and labeled with a little green leaf.

In order to be labeled with a green leaf the food has to have fewer than 3 grams of fat, fewer than 260 calories and fewer than 250 mg of sodium.
