According to the news release about the Arm and Hammer plant coming to Jackson Township, the new plant has an established sustainability policy.

The plant will use renewable energy and cut energy waste by 30 percent and solid waste by 50 percent.

According to the New Jersey Dept. of Environmental Protection, where the plant was previously based, Arm and Hammer was in compliance with hazard waste codes and permit regulations.

Dating back to 2005, "there's been nothing to write home about," said business reporter Brent Burkey who is looking into the situation.

Check back here and the YDR site for more information about the environmental impacts of the new plant as we get them. And feel free to share your thoughts on businesses' making an effort to be more green. Do you know of any other local companies doing similar things?
