Markets let people get their feet wet

In June, Chris Robins worked to open his cupcake stand at the farmer's market.

If you didn't catch it in this morning's paper, check out Nicki Lefever's story in the Living section about a local mother-daughter duo who went into business selling homemade granola.

If you're interested in trying their granola, they operate out of Central Market House in York.

You may also remember in June, I wrote a story about Chris Robins, a cupcake maker who sells his treats at the Market and Penn farmer's market.

Both hope to expand their businesses in future, opening their own cafe or bakery, but the farmer's markets seemed like the perfect place for them to get their start.

Do you know anyone who started their business at a farmer's market and then eventually opened their own place? Feel free to share in the comments section.
