No, we're not advocating counterfeiting U.S. currency. But some communities across the country are inventing their own, unique currencies because their dollars just aren't worth what they were before this recession started.

And the "money" is only good in the local shops near where the currencies were created, so no more buying at the big-box retailers.

All your hard-earned "cash" stays in circulation around you, instead of getting shipped off to China or Indonesia or whatever country is bleeding us dry with their cheap products made possible by their human rights-violating labor laws that amount of unfair competition ...

Sorry, I digress. But seriously, if you're tired of these big corporations dragging down your financial situation while you and the people and businesses around you did nothing wrong, check it out.

So what do you think? Could we have a Delta Dollar, a Spring Grove Shilling and an East Prospect Pound?
