Tyco to close plants

| | Comments (0)

The electronics manufacturer is planning to close two area plants -- in Emigsville and Carlisle -- by late March.

A company spokesman, Michael Ratcliff, would not say how many jobs will be lost as a result of the closings. The company is reducing its global workforce by 2,500, Ratcliff said.

Both area plants produce electric and electronic components that are used in "everything from washing machines to laptop computers to cars," Ratcliff said.
