Buy one, get one free

That's a sweet sign when you are grocery shopping.

And if you were in Giant at Delco on Saturday afternoon near the meat aisle, you probably heard me scream in delight.

Our family mapped out our meals for the week and for one meal we were putting together a pot roast. Little did we know that roasts were on sale: buy one, get one free at Giant. We grabbed one and our free one. What a deal. We saved $16 in the shopping move and with the roast, had two to three meals off the roast.

Feeling pretty good about the deal. I love to save money.

This is why it pays to read the stores' fliers in your Sunday paper. Interesting sidelight--I also get the Sunday Patriot News and nearly every Sunday the Giant ad in it will have one or more items that are .25-.50 cents less than in the YDR's Giant flier. Usually it's for whatever oj is one sale for the coming week. I buy a 1/2 gal. every week so I always check to see if my Giant (New Cumberland) is less than in York or Dover, the other two from where I often grabbed a few things.

Thanks for the comment, Jo.
That's interesting about the price difference.
