Restaurant renaissance

While retailers such as Office Depot and Circuit City are disappearing from the local landscape, restaurants seem to be doing just fine during this time of economic turmoil.

Since the beginning of the year, both the Wild Tuna Bar & Grill and Pomodoro's Italian Restaurant & Grill have opened in York County boasting solid menus and positive attitudes despite the fact that more people tend to eat at home during a recession.

And don' t think it's just independent restaurateurs looking to make a little cash off of local residents.

Late last week, Chipotle Mexican Grill released plans to open a 2,140-square-foot restaurant at the York Town Center in Springettsbury Township.

So, does this mean that while most people are willing to cut back on office supplies, they're still willing to open their wallets for some fish, linguini and burritos?

What's up with that?

Great place to go, if you want beat up by the chef and staff because you didn't like a dish, and send it back.
