Lots of local job fairs coming up.

There's the MediaOnePA Annual Spring Career Fair, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 28 at Sovereign Bank Stadium in York.

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency has three job fairs at its Harrisburg headquarters -- 1200 N. Seventh St. -- this week.

The agency is seeking full-time, entry-level customer service and call center representatives. Thursday's fair runs from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hanover Hospital also has a career fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the hospital's medical office building on the corner of Charles and Stock streets in Hanover.

So, with all these job fairs coming up, we asked some local recruiters how to stand out from the rest of the job-seekers out there. They had some interesting pointers.

There are other resources online to help you prepare for job fairs.

Quintessential Careers' Web site recommends refining your "elevator speech" before heading out to a job fair. The site defines an elevator speech as anything that can be communicated in the time it takes an elevator to ride from the top to the bottom of a building.

The site also has a list of its top 10 tips for attending job fairs.
