The 2014 Can-Am Police-Fire Games in York County, announced last week, promise to include some unusual events.

Sure, the games -- a competition among law enforcement and fire service agencies throughout the United States and Canada -- will offer traditional events, like basketball, tennis and swimming.

But take a look at the results from last year's games in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

On the left-hand side of the page, you'll see a run-down of the events offered in the Saskatoon games.

Some really interesting stuff there: arm wrestling, cook off, paintball, submission grappling.

Submission grappling? That's probably just a fancy way to say "wrestling."

In any event, don't necessarily expect to see each one of these events when York County hosts the games in 2014.

The host city must offer certain games, event CEO Gary Gibson said. Other games are optional. It's up to the host city to make that decision, Gibson said.
