What's with the high gas prices?

| | Comments (1)

This country is full of excuses.

From why we can't sell our homes (bad economy) to why people pick 3D movies over the 2D versions (because it's shiny), excuses are more common than potholes.

So, let's look at one of the most recent excuses used to explain the jump in gas prices once the calendar flips to April. And that excuse would be...wait for it...wait for it...more people drive when the weather is nice pushing up the demand for gas.

In the past month, local regular gas prices have climbed nearly 4 percent from $2.714 to $2.819, according to AAA.

Now, that's a bit silly. Summer comes every year. The weather gets nice and warm at the same time every year. I know it's true. I've seen it.

You would think that oil companies would have some plan in place to even out the price highs and lows.

But, let's not lie to ourselves. Oil companies are in business to make money. Your money. No excuses

It get so silly after awhile--all the various excuses for the changes in gas prices. I wish I had kept score beginning a few years ago so we could look back at them all.

I wonder too why the feds have decreased the allowance for gas mileage to .50 per mile from last years .55 per mile for census workers. Gas is about $1.00 higher this year than the same time last year.
