Back to school "unshopping"

| | Comments (0)

I'm lucky to have my kid.

He doesn't ask for much, and what he does ask for we can usually handle.

Take back-to-school shopping. He couldn't care less about clothes, bookbags or the latest lunchbox. We are probably going to start out the year in the clothes he wore last June. He already said that nothing is wrong with last year's bookbag, so we'll use that one again. And lunchboxes are simply what carries his favorite lunch: peanut butter sandwiches, a treat and some fruit.

When it comes to spending money, he would rather go out for pizza or save his allowance for vacations or the latest computer toy.

Yep, I'm a lucky mom -- the mother of a fourth grader, starting Monday.
