Consumers stick to routines when filling gas tanks

It seems like many people follow certain routines when filling up their car with gasoline, as I learned while interviewing people for this story at a Giant in York Township Wednesday.

For example, Dawn Mogren, of York, allocates $20 for gasoline for her Ford Escort every two weeks. No more, no less. It gets her everywhere she needs to go, she said.

Diane Barrick, of Baltimore, who works in Lewisberry, says she always fills up north of the Mason-Dixon line when commuting between the two cities because gas is cheaper in Pennsylvania.

I asked Barry Little, of Red Lion, why he gets gas from Giant. Using his bonus card, he said, currently saves him 30 cents per gallon.

What do you think? Do you have any tips for saving money on gas or any reason to get gas at a particular station?
