More on Comcast

I got a note from another Comcast customer who lost her digital video recorder programming when the company upgraded her on-screen program guide recently.

The customer, Linda Pike, said she did not recall getting any notification from the company that the upgrade might erase the programming.

Comcast said that about 10 percent of its York-area customers have an older set-top box with software that would not support the upgraded guide. There was no way for Comcast to refresh those customers' boxes and retain their DVR programming, the company said.

The company alerted its customers to the possible loss of DVR programming through mail, e-mail and voicemail messages, said Robert Grove, a Comcast spokesman.

"I find it hard to believe they have had few complaints," Pike wrote.
