Maryland company markets energy gum locally

I got an interesting note the other day about a new product that's apparently being offered in all Rutter's Farm Stores: "Plow On Energy Gum."

The gum has as much caffeine as a 16-ounce cup of coffee, according to a spokeswoman for the product. Plow On "quickly delivers an all-natural energy boost to the human body," according to the company, which is based in Hunt Valley, Md.

Its website features a big photo of a person running alongside a cheetah. They must have just chewed a piece of the gum.

Plow On even takes a veiled shot at Four Loko, the controversial alcoholic energy drink, in a press release: "During a time when some energy products are losing ground or being pulled from the market, Plow On Energy Gum continues to make headway."

I'd be interested to hear from people who have tried the gum and what they thought.

I love PLOW ON! Best and cheapest energy fix product on the market today.

I tried it when they offered free samples a couple months ago.

It was the most disgusting thing I ever tasted. Bitter and chalky. I retched and spit it out as soon as I got outside.

PLOW ON ENERGY GUM is awesome. They came out with a new and improved flavor a couple of weeks ago.

Saw Liz's comment, and hate to disagree with her. I got one to try from their sampling girl (I think that's what they are called) at one of the Rutter's store on Rt.30, I think it tasted just fine, and I do remember the sampling girl telling me the flavor of their gum is not like any other chewing gum. She also said that their gum is not a candy but a functional gum. Wow! She was spot on and right, for I was feeling it even before I left the store, for the rest of that morning I was awake and alert. This gum rocks!
