Saving spaces excessive after Tuesday's snow

I was driving down Roosevelt Avenue in the city Wednesday afternoon when I spotted a chair sitting in someone's parking spot on the street.

My eyebrows immediately went up.

I get the point of putting a chair in a parking space after a big snowstorm. After a person has taken the time to shovel out a space, they should get to park there until after the snow has melted.

Fine. Whatever.

But the snowstorm that hit York Tuesday night into Wednesday morning was minor, so much so that, based on what I could see, few parking spaces required shoveling out Wednesday morning.

The chair sitting in the parking space on Roosevelt Avenue, therefore, was probably a little excessive.
