NYT story: Card donor lived in Stewartstown

| | Comments (0)

A Stewartstown man last year bequeathed his estate, including a $220,000 baseball card, to nuns in Baltimore, the New York Times reported Tuesday.

The man lived in New Jersey and worked for Ford in New York before moving to Stewartstown to be closer to his sister, a member of School Sisters of Notre Dame in Baltimore, who suffered a brain aneurysm in the 1990s, the Times story said.

The man, whose identity was not revealed, stayed close to the Baltimore nuns even after his sister died in 1999, the story said. When he died last year, he left them his estate, including a rare Honus Wagner baseball card. The nuns sold it last year for $220,000, the story said.
