BAE Systems hiring in Maryland, laying off locally

Want to work for BAE Systems? Just cross the Mason-Dixon line.

The Baltimore Business Journal is reporting that the defense contractor has 182 open positions in Maryland.

According to the story, the positions relate to cyber security. Positions include Linux administrators and software, network and systems engineers.

This is comes on the heels of BAE Systems announcing a 50-person layoff at its West Manchester Township plant, which assembles ground control vehicles for the U.S. government.

Union employees at the York County site are voting on the company's third contract offer April 9. They're still working under an agreement that expired nearly a year ago.
