Bathe with soap made of money

shredded money and soap

Look closely. What do you see? Oh yes, that's shredded money!

While browsing for Christmas gifts at Sunrise Soap Company in York, I noticed something strange in one of the bars of soap. It seemed to have green confetti sticking out of it.

Upon closer inspection, the confetti looked like shredded cash.

But who would shred money and put it in soap? It seemed a little extreme, so I figured it was just paper made to look like money and moved on.

But, while I was checking out, I noticed more bars of the soap near the register. They were nestled in a basket filled with more shredded money. It looked pretty real.

“Did you really shred money?” I asked owner Chris Clarke.

She laughed and explained that her children brought the shredded cash home as a souvenir after touring the National Mint.

Chris saw it as an opportunity to make a new type of soap.

If you want to feel a little like Scrooge McDuck, you could bathe with shredded cash. It might not be as fun as swimming in coins though.

I don’t know about taking a shower with it, but it gives new meaning to watching your money go down the drain.
