The National Retail Foundation has compiled some data about the holiday of love:
- $126.03: The average amount of money a person celebrating the holiday will spend this year.
- $17.6 billion: Total anticipated spending.
- $168.74: The average amount of money a man celebrating the holiday will spend this year.
- $85.76: The average amount of money a woman celebrating the holiday will spend this year.
- 18.9: Percentage of people who will buy jewelry for the holiday.
- 50.5: Percentage of people who will buy candy for the holiday.
