Are Apple robots next?

An industry analyst is speculating that Apple could enter the home robot market – though it admits any such innovation would be more than a decade away, according to TheStreet.

UBS analyst Steven Milunovich points out that the technology behind Siri could put Apple well ahead of the curve and Apple has high tech brand visibility, putting it in prime robot position.

There’s just one problem: the name iRobot is already taken by another company.

Name issues aside, the concept of robots a la Jarvis in Iron Man is a little disconcerting to me.

As the target audience for Disney’s made-for-TV movie Smart House, I fear allowing technology to completely run the show.

But if Apple’s good at anything, in my opinion, its convincing you that not only do you need their product – it will make your life exponentially easier and better.

So, I’ll just have to wait for the marketing pitch, I guess.

Would you try out an Apple robot – or any other home robot?
