If you’ve been waiting for the new iPhone announcement, you may only have about another month of anticipation ahead, according to a new report on TheStreet.
Rumors have been swirling that the new iPhone will be unveiled at a Sept. 12 event and were only fueled by recent comments from from Sharp President Takashi Okuda:
Okuda recently said that shipments of screens for the new iPhone would begin in August. Sharp, along with LG Display Co. and Japan Display, has been one of Apple’s suppliers of iPhone screens. The next iPhone’s screens are expected to be about 30% larger than those of previous iPhones.
Not much else is known about the Sept. 12 event and TheStreet noted that invitations aren’t even issued usually until about a week beforehand.
