Stadium Grille in York partners with Liquid Hero Brewery to expand customer base

This 2007 York Daily Record/Sunday News file photo shows Emmanuel Tsogas in the kitchen of Stadium Grille. The restaurant recently partnered with Liquid Hero to expand its customer base.

Emmanuel Tsogas opened Stadium Grille seven years ago at 133 N. Duke St. in downtown York.

Since then, the economic downturn, he said, has affected food sales — something many restaurants are seeing across the board.

Tsogas had to do something about it. He had to find other customer bases to tap into.

“In this economy,” he said, “you have to find other ways to make a dollar. We were just kicking around ideas to generate income, because people are spending less.”

Last month, with the help of Downtown Inc., he partnered with Liquid Hero Brewery at 50 E. North St.

Liquid Hero, which opened in 2011, doesn’t have a kitchen for food preparation.

Tsogas created a condensed version of Stadium Grille’s menu including a few sandwiches, subs, pizza and stromboli.

Liquid Hero, he said, takes orders from the menu and calls them into Stadium Grille, which is capable of delivering within 20 minutes or less.

“It’s been working out pretty great so far,” Tsogas said. “They’re literally right around the corner for us. It creates more of a neighborhood feel. Everybody’s helping eachother.”
