What’s in your office fridge? At Idea Tree in York, it’s beer and condiments

This is Idea Tree’s fridge, as submitted by Wyatt McGuire. It is pretty cool, as far as fridges are concerned.

A couple of weeks ago, I asked people to share their work fridge stories in response to the drama we’ve been having here at YDR.

I got one response.

One.

Quality isn’t quantity, I remind you.

That one response came from Wyatt McGuire at Idea Tree in York city.

“I bet we easily win the ‘I wish that was my office fridge’ contest’,” he writes.

He wasn’t kidding.

The Idea Tree fridge, he says, is stocked with Red Bull and a good selection of both soda and beer.

The company builds custom software applications.
“We do our best to make sure everyone that works at Idea Tree has whatever they need to keep them productive,” McGuire said.

The Idea Tree office sits behind Mudhook near Central Market, giving employees access to a bevy of take-out food options.

With that in mind, McGuire keeps a variety of hot sauces and condiments on hand to “spice things up.”

While leftovers end up in the fridge, they don’t stay there long enough to get burglarized — such is the problem we have here.

“We also keep a bottle of cheap Champagne (OK, ‘sparkling wine’) on hand because you never know when you’re going to have a reason to celebrate,” he said.
