Springettsbury Camera Shop empty

| | Comments (0)

The Camera Shop on Eastern Boulevard in Springettsbury Township is just about completely empty.

A couple of "closed" signs hang on the windows.

A sign on the door says: "Our apologies, but the store was bought out in its entirety just this morning (Friday). There will be no more business. Have a great summer."

No one answered the door or the phone Monday afternoon.

The store is one of more than 300 Ritz Camera Centers that closed recently as part of the retailer's court-supervised bankruptcy reorganization, according to a statement released last month through Business Wire.

A moment of enlightenment

light.jpegFor nearly a week, my wife complained about a busted left turn signal on her Chevy Cavalier.

I had no idea what was wrong with it, and, like many people, I took it to a mechanic to diagnose the problem.

However, I pulled up to repair shop at around 4 p.m. Sunday and was informed that the place was going to close and I'd have to come back some other time.

My first thought was that the recession must not be too bad if businesses are turning away customers.
