Try an electric car in Baltimore

Electric cars are available for free test drives with admission to the Maryland Science Center now through July, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The cars don't go too fast and their charges don't last too long, the Sun reported. Top speed is 35 mph and the car travels 120 miles per charge.

Still, the program is a great way to draw attention to electric cars. The center will start a car-sharing program in August, according to the Sun.

If you haven't yet stumbled onto The Exchange forums on our site, please do so. Lots of interesting discussions -- some good, some not so good.

Take a look at this back-and-forth on shopping locally.

Springettsbury pool: come one, come all

Still looking for a place to swim this summer?

York County's pool situation got a little cloudy with the recent closure of Spring Valley, a popular pool for people in the Red Lion area.

Many of Spring Valley's members migrated to Wisehaven, a pool in Windsor Township.

Now, Wisehaven has a waiting list, according to Leslie Templeton, whose family has owned the pool since 1961.

What's a York County swimmer to do?

Well, there's always Pine Ridge Swim & Tennis Club in Springettsbury Township. Owner William Turner says the pool has welcomed 50 families from Spring Valley and doesn't have a waiting list.

"We're gonna try to accommodate whatever we can accommodate," Turner said.
