Check out this post on our very own Sam Dellinger.
Office life on your lunch break.
After seeing these photos, it will make anyone rethink taking a vacation.
Check them out.
Have you ever had a co-worker do this to you? Or were you ever the person doing the decorating? We've had seen more than a few of these "decorated spaces" at the York Daily Record/Sunday News.
Most recently it was the many photos of Yanni that magically appeared in our sports editor's cubicle. Awwww Chris, we had no idea you were a fan.
Check out Kevin Horan's story today on tonight's "Office Olympix" competition.
The brackets are out.
Now the fun begins.
Employees in offices all over the country this week are welcoming the great diversion that is the NCAA men's basketball tournament, more commonly known as March Madness.
In case you aren't familiar, here's how this thing works:
Everyone who's interested prints out a blank bracket. They then proceed to predict the winner of each game, all the way to the national championship.
Usually, there is one person within the office who coordinates the pool, meaning that person will collect the filled-out brackets and the entry fee, which is due before the games begin Thursday.
Coordinating the pool is an important task, because the coordinator is expected to send out regular updates on who is leading in the standings.
It's fun for everyone in the office and is sure to inspire some drama and intrigue as the April 6 national title game nears.
Is your office doing a pool this year? Let us know. Send an e-mail to reporter Kevin Horan at khoran@ydr.com or call him at 771-2029. Make sure to include your name, phone number and the name of your company.
As I was editing a story today about the candy-maker Necco, I didn't realize it at the time, but I was munching on their Sweathearts candy as I was editing. Necco has been making the candy since before the Civil War.
It's Valentines Day on Saturday, so you are bound to have one of the pink and red boxes of the message hearts somewhere in the workplace. I've seen at least three this afternoon alone.
Don't forget to check out our story on Friday on the candy hearts. It looks like Necco is expanding their offerings. In March they are offering the "Twilight" series message hearts. I guess this begs the question: Is candy recession-proof?
Last night's episode focused pretty heavily on office relationships with a minor story line about what happens when an office is broken into.
Here's what we learned:
If you're going to have surprise meetings in the stairwell after hours, make sure to lock the door after you leave.
Don't let your fiance's ex cause you to question your relationship.
Letting out the air in someone's tires to get their attention doesn't work unless they are going to see the car within the next few minutes.
Feel free to add your own lessons in the comments.
