A student's view of comics and a professor's view of graphic novels will be the last two programs in Dillsburg Library's "Comics From the Classics to the Graphix" series.

Rob Luff writes The Mild-Mannered Report, a comic-book column in The Slate, Shippensburg University's student newspaper. He will speak at 7 p.m. April 10 at the library at 17 S. Baltimore St. A journalism and history major, he will talk about the modern trends in comics and their advantages over other media such as film and novels.


Allyson A.W. Lyga teaches graduate-level courses on graphic novels at the University of Delaware and McDaniel College. Her presentation at 7 p.m. May 15 will emphasize graphic novels as aids to literacy. She is also a member of Kids Love Comics, which produces child-safe comics.
