Catch the reading bug at the library
Bugs have infested York County libraries!
When we stopped by Dover Community Library on Monday, my children stomped on as many as they could.
OK, so they really were posters of bugs taped to the floor, making a path toward a table where they — and I — could sign up for the summer reading contest, which kicked off Monday.
To catch the reading bug yourself, head to any York County library and sign up.
There are separate categories for kids, teens and adults. Here's a basic run-down on how it works: You log how much time you spend reading each day. Weekly, stop by your library and show your log to a librarian and pick up a prize for meeting your goal. You also can be entered into drawings for larger prizes, get tickets to local events and (the best part) connect with other local readers.

The Red Land Library in Etters had a Worm Race Monday night to kick-off their Summer Reading Club. It was a riot to watch how serious the kids were watching their worms 'race' against the others! Keep up the good work.

My kids love the bugs on Dover Library's floor, too! They hopped from one to the next, as if they were frogs.
I'm excited about the letterboxing challenge for this year's summer reading club. Has anyone else tried it yet?

I haven't heard about the letterboxing challenge. What is it?
