Get bit by the reading bug

York County Libraries will launch their 2008 Summer Reading Club for kids, teens and adults on June 9.This year’s theme is Catch the Reading Bug!

Local storyteller Chris Chilcote will present two programs.

“Quit Buggin’ Me,” an interactive program for children ages 2 through 5, will transport kids with stories, songs and crafts into the world of caterpillars, crickets, spiders and other bugs. The program is scheduled at: Red Land Community Library (938-5599) in Etters on June 20 at 10:30 a.m.; Collinsville Community Library (927-9014) in Brogue on July 9 at 1:30 p.m.; Kreutz Creek Valley Library (252-4080) in Hellam on July 14 at 10:30 a.m.; and Village Library (428-1034) in Jacobus on July 23 at 10:30 a.m.

“Huff and Puff “ is a high energy story time for children 4 through 8 filled with activities, dancing and music. Chilcote will pesent it at: Kreutz Creek Valley Library (252-4080) in Hellam on June 23 at 10:30 a.m.; Village Library (428-1034) in Jacobus on June 25 at 10:30 a.m.; Dover Area Community Library (292-6814) on July 7 at 1 p.m.; Glatfelter Memorial Library (225-3220) in Spring Grove on July 10 at 1 p.m.; Red Land Community Library (938-5599) in Etters on July 11 at 10:30 a.m.; and Martin Memorial Library (846-5300 x 242) in York on July 28 at 7 p.m.
