The book: "No Time for Ribbons" (iUniverse, $17.95)
The author: Craig Trebilcock of Glen Rock is an attorney/partner with Shumaker Williams PC and a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.

What it's about: Four Army Reserve soldiers return home and try to adapt to their civilian lives after a year of combat in Iraq. The protagonist, Sergeant Warden, kills an innocent Iraqi on his final mission and brings the guilt and frustration of that act home with him.

Excerpt: "It was necessary, and I don't regret a minute of it -- mostly -- but I can't keep livin' in two worlds anymore. I'm either in the war or I'm not. I can't have one foot in both worlds. I'm draggin' the war home every day -- I wear it like a wet poncho. And on the flip side I find myself shadin' what I do with the unit by how it's gonna' affect you and Amy. I'm weighin' trainin' opportunities by how they might affect our family -- by whether they'll result in me goin' back to the desert sooner -- not by what's best for the unit. I used to be able to keep the two separate, but not anymore."

To buy: The book is sold at Borders Books & Music in Springettsbury Township, Bookland, amazon.com and www.soldierauthor.com.

Interesting fact:
"No Time for Ribbons" is the sequel to Trebilcock's first book, "One Weekend a Month," a fictional account of his unit's service in Iraq during 2003-04.

Quote: "Five hundred thousand Iraq veterans daily live with the disquieting internal war that continues after they return home. This is their story."
