Sookie Stackhouse series is a fun read...

I began reading the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris a couple of months ago, it was recommended by a good friend. I was definately skeptical after reading the back cover of the book and learning the name of the main character was named Sookie Stackhouse. But the friend insisted and said the series is addicting and so it turned out to be true. I'm on book six and there are three more left in the series for me to read.

In general, I really am enjoying the series, but have to admit I do get annoyed with Sookie and all her male admirers drooling over her. She's had about six different romantic encounters, one right after another. I personally would need some breathing room, especially since all of them are of the supernatural world. Ahhh, who am I to judge, they're all pretty hot. I guess, if I was Sookie I'd eat them all up too, of course hopefully my name wouldn't be Sookie Stackhouse.

The story lines move quickly and there's humor throughout. Each book adds a twist and you are introduce to some very unusual characters of mythical proportions. (there aren't any unicorns, at least not so far)

In compariing this series to 'Twilight' the characters in the Sookie series are less of the brooding type and more of the let's go out and party till someone dies(as in turns into a vampire dies.)

So for a fun fast read this is a great series to pick up.
