Local author named a finalist in USA Best Books 2011

Gettysburg author Jessica James is a finalist in the historical fiction category of The USA Book News “Best Books 2011″ Awards for her Civil War novel, “Noble Cause.”

The novel also has won the John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction and the 2011 Next Generation Indie Contest for Regional Fiction.

James’ first novel, “Shades of Gray,” was a multi-award winner and resulted in her being featured in the book “50 Great Writers You Should be Reading,” released in 2010.

James will be signing copies of her novel from 2-5 p.m. Nov. 18 at the American Civil War Wax Museum Gift Shop, 297 Steinwehr Avenue, Gettysburg.
