The Civil War novel “Noble Cause,” written by Gettysburg author Jessica James, is a Bronze winner for the Book of the Year Award in the romance category. The award was announced by Foreword Magazine.
The literary magazine chooses winners based on “editorial excellence, professional production, originality of the narrative, author credentials relative to the book, and the value the book adds to its genre,” according to a press release. Winners will be announced in June.
“Noble Cause” has also won the John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction and the Next Generation Award for Regional Fiction. It was also a historical fiction finalist in the USA Book News “Best Books 2011” contest.
