‘At Night’ chosen as WITF book of the month

"At Night" by Harrisburg illustrator Jonathan BeanMaybe you didn’t know it, but Harrisburg has an award-winning illustrator right in its midst. Jonathan Bean has illustrated for everyone from The New York Times to publishers including Scholastic and Simon and Schuster.

For August, Bean was chosen as the WITF – Midtown Scholar Pick of the Month for his 2007 work, “At Night,” a children’s bedtime story about a curious, not-at-all-sleepy girl who discovers the city.

He’ll discuss his books — including “Building Our House,” to be released next year — from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 25 at Midtown Scholar Bookstore, 1302 N. Third St., Harrisburg.

Then, stick around in the afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. for a book signing with
Kari Larsen, author of the recent release “Say You’re a Fiction.” Visit www.midtownscholar.com or call 717-236-1680 for details.
