Normally, my family gets our Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year, we’ll celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday to accommodate everyone’s work schedules — and we’re getting our Christmas tree bright and early that morning, before meal preparations start.

It’s a backwards kind of holiday celebration, but we’ll make it work.

You can too — if you’re planning on getting your tree from McPherson Tree Farm this year, you can make your purchase work for Kreutz Creek Valley Library Center.

For every Douglas fir purchased, McPherson will donate $5 to Kreutz Creek. Folks should download a form here, then bring it with them to the farm. Each tree needs its own form, presented at the time of purchase.

McPherson Tree Farm is at 5931 Mt. Pisgah Road, Hellam Township, and is open 1 to 4 p.m. Fridays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Call Call Kreutz Creek at 717-252-4080 with questions.
